Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare general arrangement, working plans and detail drawings (components, molds, & assembly) for Foundry/manufacturing.

  • Adhere to established engineering change order procedures.

  • Check dimensions of part layout drawings, material to be used and relation of various parts for a project.

  • Requisition materials for production.

  • Prepare/assist in creating Bills of Material.

  • Prepare part layouts.

  • Check purchase orders for accuracy and correctness.

  • Adhere to Wabtec Code of Conduct.

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications : (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • High School Diploma, Vocational School, or Equivalent.

  • Experience with 2D and 3D mechanical drawings and models.

  • Experience with manual drafting or CAD/CAM systems. Solidworks preferred.

  • Knowledge of machining is helpful but not required.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to work in teams.

  • Independent judgement and proactive problem solving.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in arrangement drawings, detail drawings, part drawings.

  • SolidWorks or other 3D modeling software.

  • AutoCAD or other 2D modeling software.

  • Industrial design/drafting experience.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • Employee is regularly required to communicate effectively and clearly. Present Technical information.

  • Employee needs to be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to access and navigate the production facility.

  • Employee is regularly required to see and observe small handwriting, labels, and components.

  • Employee is regularly required to wear steel toed shoes safety goggles while in production area.

  • The Position requires the employee to be on-site during scheduled shift to perform daily duties and responsibilities.

  • Requires intermittent face-to-face interaction with employees on production line.

  • The employee will work at times in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment. During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
