ABOUT THE ROLE:
The position will be a member of the local management team of Extrema factory (Chocolate and compound manufacturing), managing the quality team and reporting directly to the LATAM QA Director. This professional will lead all aspects of Food Safety and product quality to assure customer satisfaction, elevate product performance and support sales teams to deliver superior results.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Promote the Quality Culture
Implement and lead quality systems to promote high standards of execution in compliance with BC Global Standards and GFSI
Protect people involved in the quality operations and influence all environment for that same goal
To build a strong team through identifying, selecting, developing and motivating his/her team members.
Promote product quality through proactive programs (Sensory, Statistics, Root Cause Analysis, CAPA, GMP); be clear to prevent and fix quality issues as they arise
Manage Quality Budget and resources assigned
Control the factory KPI’s and promote the Factory Continues Improvements
Prepare executive reports to be presented to the company's board of directors
Support other functions for business goals (R&D, Innovation, Commercial, Supply Chain and Productivity programs)
Manage internal and external audits (Quality, Sustainability)
Influence and support other local quality functions - Regulatory Affairs, Supplier Quality and Customer Service.
Interaction with the cocoa business and all stakeholders to find business solutions and opportunities.
SCOPE:
This role supports the chocolate operations including Sales, Marketing, Regulatory and Customer Service within Brazil. Will be based in Extrema factory.
ABOUT YOU:
Bachelor's degree in Food Engineering, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Agronomy, Biology, Microbiology or equivalents
Fluent in English, desirable some knowledge of Spanish
Skills as Leader Auditor on GFSI Schemes (ISO, BRC, etc)
Continuous improvement and Statistical Skill are a plus (Six Sigma)
Experience in Food industry. Preferable Knowledge and experience of confectionery products
Leadership strengths with the ability to work effectively with a team
Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, GSFI standards
Excellent written & verbal communication
Ability to drive projects to completion
Quality Control
Analytical ability and Root Cause analysis
Crisis management
Nice to have: ERP - SAP focus in Quality module (Master Data, hold and release, traceability, Lab data)
