What You Can Expect

We are looking for a (FULL TIME 40 HOUR WORK WEEK) co-op who is well organized, highly motivated and interested in learning and participating in the manufacturing engineering setting of a foundry. At the Fair Lawn site, the manufacturing engineering team participates in projects that help reduce scrap and improve process efficiency within the plant. Our mission is to provide our customers with joint reconstruction products that help alleviate pain and improve their quality of life. The interns that work on our team will have the opportunity not only to learn about the investment casting process, but to actively participate in all facets of a manufacturing plant while helping to fulfill our mission. This co-op will occur during the Fall 2024 (August to December 2024).

How You'll Create Impact

• Creating, maintaining and improving controlled technical documents such as

procedures, routers, bill of materials and tooling/fixture drawings.

• Supporting a wide variety of processing applications such as wax injection molding,

shelling, casting, grinding and laser marking and projects surrounding these

applications.

• Conducting feasibility studies to estimate product cost and analyze capital equipment,

capacity, and capability requirements.

• Collecting process and scrap data for future analysis.

• Improving process methods which meet performance and quality requirements.

• Executing to project plans and schedules for work activities.

• Communicate (written and verbal) with appropriate personnel from other

departments, including quality, operations and team members working on the

manufacturing floor.

• Executing equipment qualification or process validation project(s)

• Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

• Ability to balance quality, compliance, and safety to meet customer requirements

• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple medium complexity project assignments and

complete work in a timely manner

• Problem solving skills through the use of quality and statistical tools

• Ability to effectively work within a cross-functional team to complete critical project

tasks

• Demonstrates good written and verbal communication skills

• Microsoft Office Suite and Project

Your Background

• Must be actively enrolled in an academic program for the entire duration of the

assignment.

• Minimum status as a sophomore in a Bachelors Degree program.

• Biomedical/Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering field is preferred.

• GPA of 3.0+ preferred

• Experience working with layout design and 3D modeling as well as process

improvement work using the DMAIC model.
