Federal Aviation Administration Airway Transportation Systems Specialist (SSC Coordinator) in Fairbanks, Alaska

Summary The Anchorage District, Technical Operations, Fairbanks SSC, WWQ15-FAI, is seeking qualified applicants for an Airway Transportation Systems Specialist (SSC Coordinator), FV-2101-I, located in Fairbanks Alaska. This is not a 100% Virtual assignment and in area/office presence is required. Responsibilities As an ATSS SSC Coordinator Incumbent determines whether the majority of services, systems, or subsystems are operating (or are capable of operating) within applicable parameters and specifications. Specialist decides the technical acceptability or status thereof. Technician provides appropriate systems and service certification as required by agency policy and guidelines. Decisions and recommendations involve major segments of the NAS, which extend beyond sector boundaries. Technician initiates action for the timely repair or restoration of services and systems, taking into account the availability of back-up systems, possible reconfigurations to minimize service interruptions, and the relative criticality of particular functions to the safe and efficient operation of the NAS. Candidate will work to ensure timely restoration of services and systems throughout the area of geographic responsibility of the position. Coordinates and directs the maintenance of all critical services/systems and subsystems within the applicable SSC and commits resources to restoration of failed facilities. Coordinates, evaluates, and implements changes to NAS systems and services. As the FAA representative, coordinates internal, external, and contractor activities to ensure interface compatibility in the development, procurement, and installation of modifications and enhancements. Incumbent may be assigned other duties in support of the NAS. Requirements Conditions of Employment We are not accepting applications from noncitizens. Qualifications To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the requirements stated below: Specialized Experience: Applicants must provide a resume which demonstrates and/or show that you possess the specialized work experience in your work history. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate an extensive knowledge of and experience in technology system interrelationships, and management of civilian or military automation aviation, navigation, and electronics systems. Applicants must show experience at the level of difficulty and responsibility that is appropriate to the position. Generally, experience at the next lower level (pay band H/Career Level III or equivalent), meets the minimum qualification requirements as long as your experience supports the "Demonstrated Abilities" identified within the "Application Questionnaire" section. Demonstrated Abilities: Applicants MUST provide narrative responses for each Demonstrated Ability listed within this announcement.
