Job Description:

GDIT has an exciting opportunity for a Network Cloud and Automation Senior Engineer joining our team to support Office of CIO activities across locations.

The position requires someone who understands cloud infrastructure, can apply their understanding to automate operational processes, and persistent in driving cultural change within and across teams within the enterprise. Cloud understanding include infrastructure rollout, operation, and troubleshooting in Azure, OCI, and AWS clouds. Automation tools must include Ansible and broad knowledge of other automation tools with their strengths and weaknesses.

As a Network Cloud and Automation Senior Engineer, you will be trusted to work on multiple cloud and automation technologies in a key operational position. A typical day will include:

  • Leading major cloud architecture projects

  • Identifying and remediating inconsistent cloud configurations across clouds

  • Managing cloud automation reporting

  • Coordinating across network stakeholder process improvements

  • Managing automation code lifecycle

  • Maintaining cloud and automation operational metrics

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field or equivalent years of experience

  • 10+ years of enterprise infrastructure experience specializing in networks

  • 5+ years of enterprise cloud IaaS experience, primarily in Azure, (AWS and Oracle Cloud nice to have)

  • 2+ years of experience automating processes, ansible knowledge required

  • Advanced network and firewall experience applied to cloud (routing protocols, firewalls, load balancers, etc.)

  • Experience with REST API automation across cloud and enterprise products

  • Knowledge of cloud and automation maturity paths, ability to drive changes and mature processes through automation

  • Ability to troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues in Microsoft Azure (OCI and AWS are nice to have)

The likely salary range for this position is $127,500 - $172,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
