Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiologic Technologist II
Role Summary
We are seeking a Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiologic Technologist II (CIRT II) to join our team. The CIRT II has responsibility, training, and competence with diagnostic, routine, and complex interventional cardiac angiographic and cardiac implant procedures. The CIRT will promote a safe environment for staff, patients, and physicians, report unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel, and be proficient in the setup and use of atherectomy systems and thrombus extraction devices. Key Results Area
Prepares room, and x-ray equipment, and completed the procedural setup as needed for invasive cardiac, cardiac implant/explant, vascular, peripheral vascular, interventional radiologic, and trauma-based procedures
Under the leadership of an RN, assists with the procedural preparation of patients
Instruct patients regarding X-ray procedures in a manner tailored to the specific needs of the patient
Assists with the transfer of patients when possible
Assists the cardiologist, interventional radiologist, vascular surgeon, or other physicians in the performance of minimally invasive and invasive fluoroscopic guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
Positions patients for fluoro and cine imaging during procedures to obtain optimal results; under the supervision of the physician, adjusts x-ray tubes for properly guided views
Observe patient during the procedure, reporting unusual occurrences to the RN assessing the patient
Responsible for preparation of pressure injector and performing of DSA
Familiar with and able to respond to all aspects and situations pertaining to codes and emergency situations occurring in the Cath lab
Performs and calculates ejection fractions
Proficient in assisting the physician as a scrub technician in invasive cardiac, cardiac implant/explant, vascular, peripheral vascular, interventional radiologic, and trauma-based procedures as assigned
Utilizes effective communication skills to facilitate safe patient handoffs
Adept at connecting the patient to all types of monitoring equipment for the procedure(s)
Capable in the setup and use of atherectomy systems and thrombus extraction devices
Skills & Qualifications
Graduated from an accredited two-year school of X-ray technology
A current CA CRT, ARRT, and CA Fluoroscopy permit is required. Current AHA or AHA equivalent BLS is required. ACLS and RCIS are preferred
Must have a year of recent experience in an interventional lab performing peripheral vascular procedures, interventional radiology, or interventional cardiology
Experience in coronary interventions and CPACS is preferred
Able to work quickly and efficiently in complex situations
Independent and reliable with excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Proficient writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrate performance by adhering to established policies and procedures, and exhibiting the ability to be punctual for all shifts
Performs all physical duties of the job. Requires lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and fine motor skills. Ability to move equipment
