Primary responsibilities:

Market Research and Analysis:

  • Gather market and business intelligence from a variety of sources including company data, industry and field reports, public information, federal government contracting and appropriations data, or third-party purchased sources

  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges in federal and health care markets

  • Analyze market dynamics, including customer needs, buying behaviors, competitive landscape, regulatory environment

  • Monitor and proactively collate relevant industry news and provide actionable insights

  • Collaborate with other functional teams to develop broader or deeper marketing insights

  • Apply relevant analyses to identify additional research that may be needed or to identify potential business opportunities

  • Develop summary of findings at a level appropriate for the key audience

Strategic Analysis:

  • Support strategy development and strategic decision-making processes by providing timely and relevant market data, intelligence and analysis

  • Utilize analytical tools and techniques to interpret data and generate actionable insights

  • Design and implement analytic market intelligence framework to support strategy and business growth objectives

  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate findings, analysis, and recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience performing market research and analysis for a top federal government contractor, consulting firm, or industry-leading company

  • Demonstrated experience with the federal contracting market and data sources such as Federal Procurement Data System, USASpending.org, SAM.gov, and other government or third-party resources at a professional level

  • Proven ability to identify, source, and analyze data and information from disparate resources and identify trends, draw conclusions, and determine connections to inform key business decisions

  • Proven ability to manipulate large datasets and conduct data-driven analyses using large datasets that lead to actional results

  • Demonstrated understanding of the data models and various data analysis techniques

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite – Word and PowerPoint

  • Advanced-level proficiency with Microsoft Excel including advanced referencing, complex formula interpretation & development, pivot tables/power query and a basic understanding of VBA

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven analytics skills, including mining, evaluation, and visualization

  • Demonstrated experience developing dashboards using data visualization tools such as Tableau

  • Experience with driving business results through strategic planning and market intelligence initiatives

  • Knowledge of federal procurement processes, regulations, and compliance requirements

  • Experience working in a cross-functional team environment, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
