We are offering a unique opportunity for a Controller in our south end location. This role is pivotal within our construction industry operations, with a focus on leading a previously underperforming accounting department. The position provides a contract employment opportunity that encompasses a multitude of accounting functions, including the management of accounts payable and receivable, auditing, budget processes, and the utilization of various accounting software systems.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee Work in Progress (WIP) and job costing within the department.

• Handle union payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.

• Proficiently utilize Spectrum software (Viewpoint) and Paylocity payroll systems.

• Develop comprehensive understanding of the construction subcontractor or construction industry.

• Leverage skills in Accounting Software Systems and ERP Solutions to optimize department operations.

• Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.

• Conduct regular audits to maintain financial transparency and compliance.

• Oversee and manage budget processes, ensuring financial forecasts align with company goals.

• Utilize knowledge of Construction Accounting and Construction to enhance financial operations.

• Handle Union Payroll operations, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.

Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Familiarity with ERP Solutions

• Deep understanding of Accounting Functions

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Knowledge of Auditing procedures

• Ability to manage Budget Processes

• Experience with WIP - Work In Progress

• Familiarity with Construction Accounting

• Working knowledge of the Construction industry

• Experience with Payroll, specifically in Union environments
