About the Position

The Department of Educational Psychology (EPS) is seeking to fill an Assistant Clinical Professor position beginning in August 2024. The position is a 9-month non-tenure track faculty line with the opportunity for summer course teaching; and is located at the Yuma campus. The successful candidates will have a specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and will have enthusiasm for teaching at the graduate level and for training culturally responsive and ethical counselors to serve the needs of communities in Arizona and beyond.

The appointment will begin in the Fall 2024 academic semester. The Department of Educational Psychology is located within the College of Education and offers a PhD in Combined Counseling/School Psychology, Ed.S. in School Psychology, and Master\'s degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Counseling-School Counseling, Counseling-Student Affairs, and Human Relations, and a Bachelor\'s degree in Applied Human Behavior. The Department of Educational Psychology has accredited degree programs in statewide locations. Responsibilities Include:

  • Teach graduate counseling classes (including practicum and internship) for the EPS programs, focusing on the CACREP accredited MA Clinical Mental Health Counseling program.
  • Under the guidance of Department Leadership, coordinate admissions and mentoring at the Yuma campus.
  • Teach in-person, blended, and online courses.
  • Assist in recruiting and advising counseling students.
  • Fulfill service responsibilities to the department, college, and the profession.
  • Work collaboratively with schools and agencies to coordinate practicum and internship experiences for counseling students.

This position is an on-site position which requires the incumbent to complete their work primarily at an NAU site, campus, or facility with or without accommodation. Opportunities for remote work are rare.

9-month, non-tenure track position, starting August 2024 - option of Summer course teaching possible.

Located on Yuma, AZ campus.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Counselor Education from an accredited CACREP program, earned by date of selection.
  • One academic year (2 semesters) of college teaching experience (can include college teaching as a graduate assistant during degree program).
