Job Summary

The Physician Assistant program is looking for a part-time Program Learning Specialist whose focus is to assist students academically-at-risk with achieving their true potential. Intensive monitoring of student's progress is required.

This position reports directly to the department's director.

The part-time salary range for up to 16 hours per week (40% effort) with this appointment will be $26,760 to $33,440

Responsibilities*
  • Manage individual and group sessions, workshops and review courses to assist health science students
  • Collaborate with lead and clinical faculty to develop a holistic, individualized plan for success with incoming and continuing students based on their learning needs
  • Collaborate with academic advisors and lead faculty on academic alerts
  • Leverage University resources/make referrals, e.g., Disability and Accessibility Support Services Counseling and Psychological Services, etc.
  • Work with Disability Accessibility Support Services (DASS) to identify students with potential learning disabilities
  • Develop programs for at-risk students who are not achieving standard academic progress
  • Meet with students to provide consultation, coaching and/or referral with respect to academic success strategies
  • Monitor and analyze student progression, retention and graduation
  • Prepare annual reports for submission
  • Understand accreditation standards and expectations for department, policies and procedures

Required Qualifications*
  • Master's degree in education, counseling or a relevant healthcare field
  • (4) or more years of relevant health care or advising experience
  • Basic or above proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft and learning management platforms
  • Experience conducting presentations face-to-face or online modalities
