Mazak Corporation Unit Assembler in Florence, Kentucky

Description

Accountability: Mazak Corporation is hiring a Unit Assembler to join our Assembly Department located at our Headquarters in Florence, KY. A Unit Assembler will assemble, calibrate, and test precision units for machine tools. Including headstock, spindles, turrets, ball screws, magazines, and other subassemblies for installation on machine tools.

Scope and Responsibilities:

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
  • Clean and inspect parts prior to assembly
  • Set preloads on various types of bearings using precision equipment
  • Inspect and measure all parts needed for the unit to be assembled; adjust parts by grinding to obtain correct preloads
  • Assemble units taking many measurements with precision equipment during process. Balance spindle assemblies on balancing equipment
  • Attach subassembly parts to prepare unit for testing. Test operate unit
  • Conduct precision measurements using various precision gauges
  • Maintain clean and orderly work area.
  • Transport units using walk behind fork truck.

Education/Certification:

  • High school diploma
  • Some college or trade school is preferred

Skills:

  • Previous machine tool experience
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Use of hand tools
  • Use of power tools
  • Use of precision instruments
  • Good math skills
  • Understanding of test stands for function check
Qualifications

Experience

Previous machine tool experience (preferred)
