Business Analyst Associate - Transaction Codes within Small Business & Consumer Operations

  • The Transaction Code Team is responsible for the governance, project tracking, development, implementation, and maintenance of existing and new transaction channels and types throughout the bank.

  • The team is cross-functional between operations, accounting/controllership, and technology and functions as a core workstream on bank-wide projects.

  • This is a hybrid position located in Florham Park, NJ.

Job Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Executes varied and complex transactions/processes utilizing standard procedures.

  • Maintains and develops procedures and working documentation.

  • Maintains tracking for weekly and monthly governance meetings.

  • Partners with IT to prioritize enhancement requests.

  • Partners with internal and/or external business partners to route communications, documents, or other action items.

  • Provides timely responses and documentation to inquiries and ad hoc requests.

  • Completes research and provides feedback.

  • Review transactions and related documents and verify work processes to ensure completeness, accuracy, and conformance to established regulations.

  • Analyzes and reviews data tools, business processes, and operational standards to complete deliverables.

  • Research existing Systems to identify areas of simplification and improvement.

  • Understand cross-functional impacts from changes in channels or transaction types and engage necessary stakeholders.

  • Evaluates and will ensure that operations meet company objectives, business needs, service agreements, and relevant requirements.

  • Acts as a subject matter resource for the team.

  • Provides strategic input based on functional expertise.

  • Identifies and resolves exceptions; escalates appropriately.

  • Capable of utilizing Excel formulas to address data quality problems and data transformations.

  • Identify patterns in data sets to help propose incident action items.

  • Able to work in an Agile environment with short deadlines.

  • Can utilize data sets and context to formulate conclusions.

  • Communicate with incident stakeholders as well as Risk and Audit teams.

  • Able to find, track, and execute action items.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Finance, Business, Accounting, Information Systems, or an equivalent field. (Required)

Work Experience:

  • Consumer operations experience, preferably in a lending/banking or financial services environment. 5+ years (Required)

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excel (VLOOKUP, index/match, pivots, etc.) – Required.

  • SQL (queries, joins) – Required.

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.

  • Ability to drive escalation and resolution of production problems.

  • Understanding of technology project life cycle, the business requirements, and technical requirements documentation.

  • Understand the necessity and value of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of successful approaches, tools, and techniques for dealing with changes and adapting to a changing environment.

  • Knowledge of and ability to design, implement, and evaluate standard operating procedures.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Outlook, Word, and Excel usage or comparable software applications.

Extra Skills:

  • Python (Pandas) is a plus.

  • VBA/Macros are a plus.

  • VBA/Macros (Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.).

  • Knowledge of SQL queries in SAS is a plus.

  • Understanding Corporate Accounting is a plus.
