Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. POSITION IS ANNOUNCED AS A STANDING REGISTER (OPEN CONTINUOUS RECRUITMENT): First cutoff date to evaluate candidates will be 31 May 2024 at 11:59 PM. Who May Apply: US Citizens Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic without more than normal supervision. To meet the screen out element, applicants should document experience or show the ability to do the following: conduct inspections of electrical equipment, use test equipment to diagnose malfunctions, troubleshoot to determine cause of malfunction, and complete repairs of electrical equipment using hand and power tools. Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical effort: Must be able to stand for long periods of time; or endure recurring activities such as bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, and reaching. Must possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds. Working Conditions: Work is performed inside shops, aircraft, or outside in good weather conditions. Exposed to potentially high voltage, aircraft rotors, RF and IR radiation and high intensity noises. Fumes, solvents, dirt, dust, grease, and oil are normally present. Danger of the possibility of cuts, burns, shocks, strains, falls, and eye or skin irritations is possible. Education Additional Information This position offers a $10,000 recruitment bonus to individuals who are newly appointed. You are considered newly appointed if this is your first appointment as a Federal Government civilian employee or if you have a minimum of a 90 day break in service from a previous Federal civilian position. You may qualify with a break in service of less than 90 days only if your previous Federal civilian appointment was a time-limited or NOT a permanent appointment. Your recruitment bonus will be made in two payments of $5,000. You receive the first payment when you enter on duty, second payment at your one year anniversary. This bonus requires a two year service obligation to the Army Reserve Military Technician Program. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
