The Motor Vehicle Mechanic repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks or tractors.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosing the source of trouble and determining the extent of repairs required; replacing worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts; grinding and adjusting valves; rebuilding carburetors; overhauling transmissions; and repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems.

  • In general, the work of the Motor Vehicle Mechanic requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent.

  • Work environment includes periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of motor vehicle maintenance experience.

  • Must be knowledgeable in U.S. Army maintenance procedures and AR 750-1.

  • Must pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.

  • Must have a High School Diploma / GED.

  • Must bring and use own tools.

  • Ability to receive a favorable Tier-1 Investigation result and obtain and maintain a CAC.

  • Must be able (but are not limited to) to lift 60 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years maintenance experience preferred.

  • US Army MOS 91/63 series qualification.

  • Experience on US Army tactical vehicles.

  • Valid Driver's License.

  • CDL license preferred.

Pay Rate:

  • Hourly Compensation: $21.67

  • Retention Bonus of $5,000 upon completion of 500 hours.

  • Completion Bonus of up to $7,000 (pro-rated bonus based on the total hours worked).

  • Referral Bonus of $500 upon completion of 500 hours.
