QUALIFICATIONS Education and/or Experience: - Previous experience preferred in refuse collection. - Must have ability to learn operation and maintenance of trucks, light equipment and hand tools. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class A or B. LANGUAGE SKILLS - Must be able to follow oral and written instructions in English.
OTHER DUTIES - Must be available during severe weather such as snow, rain, hail, wind, etc. - Must be able to work overtime when needed, including weekends, holidays, etc.
WAGE: $18.78/Hr.
DAYS/HRS: Daytime hrs.
DESCRIPTION: POSITION SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Sanitation Superintendent, performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled manual labor in refuse collection, collection of solid waste and the construction and maintenance of containers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Collects business and residential solid waste. - Collects refuse and picks up tree limbs. - Constructs new waste containers. - Maintains waste containers, including lids, graffiti removal, painting of containers and decals replaces defective containers. - Drives vehicles and trucks up to 2-1/2 - 5 tons, which may include light tractors, loaders and equipment. - Assists in various general maintenance, repair and construction work. - Cleans and service vehicles and equipment. - Other duties as assigned.
