LMR Technical Group Physical Therapist (PT) in Fort Stewart, Georgia

LMR Technical Group (LMR) is seeking a Physical Therapist (PT) to join our team.

Location: Fort Stewart, GA

Background:

As part of the Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) and Guardian Angel (GA) Preservation of the Force and Family (POTFF) initiative, the role of a licensed Physical Therapist is critical in improving the rehabilitation and readiness of TACP, Special Warfare Mission Support (SWMS), and Guardian Angel personnel.

Scope of Work:

The Physical Therapist will provide comprehensive assessment, evaluation, and pre-habilitation of musculoskeletal conditions to support the mission readiness of TACP/SWMS/AWS personnel. The PT will work as an independent practitioner and direct care provider, maintaining credentialing requirements as per state regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Evaluation and Pre-habilitation: Conduct initial and ongoing evaluations, providing pre-habilitation care to enhance readiness and prevent injuries among TACP/SWMS/AWS personnel.
  • Coordination and Communication: Maintain HIPAA-compliant communication with referring providers about the personnels progress and return to duty status.
  • Injury Prevention: Advise unit commanders on injury prevention, rehabilitation, and develop SOPs for physical therapy programs.
  • Resource Management: Manage administrative tasks related to the procurement of supplies and equipment necessary for physical therapy interventions.
  • Education and Training: Spend a significant portion of time on primary injury prevention services, health education, and nutrition advising.
  • Performance Reporting: Provide human performance and pre-habilitative trending metrics, analyzing data such as musculoskeletal pain, duty limitations, and overall physical readiness.
  • Training and Documentation: If directed, assist in documenting care in MHS GENESIS and provide individual training plans that include fitness assessments and tailored training protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an APTA accredited institution.
  • Certification: Certification through the ABPTS as either an OCS or SCS, or as a certified athletic trainer through NATA.
  • Experience: Minimum of four years experience with professional/collegiate athletes and five years in an orthopedic outpatient physical therapy or sports medicine clinic.
  • Recent Practice: Demonstrated performance as a Physical Therapist within the last two years, fulfilling clinical practice hours as required for credentialing.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication abilities for effective interaction and presentations.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of local, state, and federal laws and regulations relevant to physical therapy practice.

Working Conditions

  • The role requires working on site during normal duty hours and supporting occasional surge operations. The Physical Therapist is not required to work on federal holidays but must be available for surge operations typically amounting to 10 hours a month.
