Air National Guard Units AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS MECHANIC in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Summary THIS IS AN INDIANA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This position is part of the IN 122nd Fighter Wing, Indiana National Guard under Position Description Number D0021000. Responsibilities Troubleshoots, installs, removes, repairs, modifies, adjusts, inspects, and tests such components as regulators, flow indicators, actuator motors, thruster and positioning mechanisms, seat actuators, etc. Inspects pressurization system air pressure gauges for sufficient pressure and bottles and regulators for general condition and serviceability. Performs installation, modification, and repair of aircraft egress systems. Performs maintenance, troubleshooting, overhaul, repair, modification and periodic servicing of air munitions and munitions systems applicable to reconnaissance aircraft. Schedules periodic maintenance of aircraft munitions systems when notified by Maintenance Control of inspections due. Loads cartridges, flares, etc., into aircraft systems and removes if not used in flight, following applicable handling, loading, and checkout procedures. Enforces safety, fire, security, and housekeeping regulations. Reviews bench stock to determine adequacy and to determine required renewals/deletions to accomplish programs. Assists in training of Drill Status Guardsmen. Assists in training of technician augmentees for emergency arming/de-arming of cartridges. Prepares for or participates in various types of readiness evaluations such as ORI, IG and UE inspections, mobility, and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications MILITARY GRADES: E3 through E5 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the applicant's ability to repair malfunctions of ordnance equipment and components. Ability to use sketches, electrical diagrams, technical specifications and engineering drawings. Experience which demonstrates skill in the use of test equipment to make electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic checks. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience or training in planning and layout of repair sequence and ability to complete modification, repair and installation of ordnance systems. Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting malfunctions and determining remedy where complex relationships exist. Experience in hand tools and a limited number of measuring equipment. Experience in the use of a variety of test equipment. Experience in interpreting technical directions, blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams and manufacturer's specifications.
