Parkview North Hospital Compliance Specialist - Clinical in Fort Wayne, Indiana
Summary: The Compliance Specialist-Clinical helps ensure that operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and policies. Responsible for monitoring and documenting compliance activities, including but not limited to, controlled substance reviews, coding and billing reviews, developing and presenting compliance education to various constituencies throughout the organization, advising department leadership and management on compliance matters, and liaising with government agencies.
Education: Associate's Degree in a related field.
Licensure/Certification: Certified in Coding and Healthcare Compliance or willing to obtain certifications within two years. RN, LPN, or pharmacy technician credentials.
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of experience with coding, reimbursement, and compliance. Must have strong knowledge of CMS rules and regulations and other laws that pertain to health systems. Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10-CM coding principles and guidelines. Knowledge of controlled substance regulations preferred. Ability to use Epic, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint required. Must be detail-oriented and able to meet targeted deadlines, must be self-motivated and possess good time management skills and must have strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Excellent documentation and report writing skills.
