Walmart Manufacturing, Dairy Plant #1 Yard Driver, On Property - Dairy in Fort Wayne, Indiana

This position is responsible for the operation of a department. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job related responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or necessary.

Essential Functions An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation. Coordinate movement of trailers with Dock Coordinator to designated locations. Maintain trucks and trailers by inspecting to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order; maintaining proper fuel levels; and performing trailer inventory checks. Ensure quality by maintaining records, logs and forms, including any forms required by the Department of Transportation (DOT). Operate tractor/trailer unit safely by adhering to all safety requirements, to include placing trailers in designated locations. Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy; and applying these in executing business processes and practices. Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback.

Yard Driver Operations - Drives tractor/trailers in a safe and correct manner by adhering to all regulations (e.g., company, local, state and federal). Transports trailers to appropriate destinations in an accurate and timely manner. Tells management about unsafe working conditions, damaged products, or improper procedures. Operates tractor/trailer in a safe and correct manner. Maintains a clean work environment to ensure safety and compliance. Physical Activities The following physical activities are necessary to perform one or more essential functions of this pos tion. Observes associate, customer, or supplier behavior. Enters and locates information on computer. Moves up and down a ladder. Moves up and down stairs. Communicates effectively in person or by using telecommunications equipment. Creates documents, reports, etc., using a writing instrument (such as a pencil or pen) or computer.Visually verifies information, often in small print. Safely operates motor vehicle or other large power equipment, requiring valid drivers license or certification as appropriate. Reads information, often in small print. Visually locates merchandise and other objects. Visually inspects equipment. Reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Walk within work area for extended periods of time. Differentiate sounds in order to inspect and maintain equipment, identify potential hazards, or recognize safety alarms. Move, lift, carry, and place merchandise and/or supplies weighing greater than 60 pounds without assistance.

Travel Traveling is necessary to perform one or more essential functions of this position. Travels domestically to and from multiple facilities or work-sites requiring an overnight stay.

Work Environment Working in the following environment is necessary to perform one or more of the essential functions of this position. Moves over sloping, uneven surfaces such as the parking lot, building perimeter, receiving bays, sections of the facility which have temporary cracks, or areas under repair. Works in areas requiring exposure to varying temperatures, extreme heat or cold, and/or wet, damp, or drafty conditions. Work outdoors for extended periods of time.

Entry Requirements Minimum Qualifications Valid state-issued driver's license and 6 months experience operating tractor/trailer unit
