Pike Corporation Program Manager in Fort Worth, Texas

Position Summary: The Program Manager will bring leadership in envisioning, planning and executing the right solutions in an iterative and agile manner.

The Program Manager will be the primary person to lead interaction with our internal and external clients and serve as the driver for successful program development and program implementation. This hands-on position requires client interaction and significant coordination with internal operations and technology teams to implement these new products and services.

The primary responsibilities include facilitating the use of PMO practices, tracking critical development milestones, monitoring process adherence, identifying and removing impediments, escalating risks and ensuring temporal uniformity from one program to another.

The Program Manager will communicate frequently with key stakeholders, ensure detailed project requirements are met and documented; obtain feedback from stakeholders, schedule implementation, and monitor progress from scoping to delivery.

The Program Manager must be able to multi-task, have high energy, and possess excellent interpersonal skills, impeccable attention to detail, and a commitment to client satisfaction and success. The candidate must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with challenging deadlines and multiple priorities. This person will be expected to contribute information, ideas and recommendations to both tactical and strategic plans, defining customer-service standards, determining systems or operational improvements and implementing change.

Finally, Program Manager needs to demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate at the executive level; managing C-suite delivery expectations in addition to surfacing status and facilitating business priorities negotiations.

Essential Functions:

The Program Manager will be responsible for the following areas:

  • Communicate at the executive level, manage delivery expectations, facilitate business priorities and negotiations

  • Establish and cultivate trust and confidence with internal project teams and clients.

  • Lead the planning and implementation of multiple projects. Work independently or collaborate with system integrators to develop full scale, integrated project plans. Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables

  • Drive key vendor relationships and contracts

  • Manage project timelines

  • Track project deliverables. Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders. Create and present reports defining project progress, risks/issues and solutions and communicate status to all levels of senior management on a regular basis

  • Lead the definition of all product and service requirements. Work closely with internal and external clients to define and validate use cases

  • Coordinate project teams. Synthesize project meeting discussions. Develop and enforce adherence to templates and standards, including weekly status reports, meeting agendas, meeting protocols and project plans

  • Ensure directed resources are effectively utilized, work according to project assumptions and forecasts, and deliver efficient, high-quality work

  • Lead and manage the team; focusing on operations, culture, process, systems and leading by example

  • Facilitate relationships and collaboration both within the team and the teams’ environment; process and continuous improvement; all ceremonies: sprint planning, sprints, retrospectives, etc. to be more be purposeful and effective

  • Facilitate open discussions, difficult discussions, effective decision making, and the smooth operation and interaction throughout the teams

  • Use clear data and metrics to illuminate the maturity of teams’ and organization’s agility

  • Assist with internal and external communication, improve transparency, and radiate information clearly, consistently and automatically

  • Understand deeply technical conversations and problems, contribute to solving both technical and non-technical operational issues

  • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem solving.

    Minimum Requirements:

  • A degree in computer science, mathematics or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project management, consultation and/or engineering management.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of utility experience or other relative experience

  • Must have legal right to work in the US.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to establish and articulate a vision, set goals, develop and execute strategies, and track and measure results

  • Proven skills to work effectively across internal functional areas in ambiguous situations

  • Outstanding organizational, project management, communication, and presentation skills

  • Possesses effective communication skills and ability to interpret data and influence leaders.

  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a focus on the end user and end to end process.

  • Ability to manage and balance transformational roadmap initiatives alongside high day to day ad hoc data needs

  • Ability to operate effectively in a highly entrepreneurial environment

  • Ability to work within cross-functional teams

  • Proven ability to balance and manage multiple, competing priorities

  • Self-starter who relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals in complex fast-paced environment to ensure quality of all deliverables

  • Strong sense of user/customer experience and needs for both external clients and internal power-users

  • Experience with various Agile frameworks, test driven development and pair programming, continuous integration/continuous delivery

  • Proficient skills and knowledge of facilitation, situational awareness, empathy, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency

  • Willingness to travel 10 percent to meet with clients as well as meet with internal teams in our multiple offices

  • Experience as a Software developer
