Job Description

With exposure to the entire portfolio of Gilead products, the Director, Market Access Strategy – Cross-Portfolio will be responsible for the development and execution of portfolio access strategies and initiatives to drive marketing innovation, increase customer engagement and support operational efficiency and effectiveness.

This position reports to the Senior Director, Market Access Strategy – Cross-Portfolio on the US Managed Markets team. This opportunity is Foster City, CA based.

Responsibilities:

Portfolio Payer Strategy & Marketing

  • Develop tools and resources to support above-brand conversations for the account teams’ customer engagement.

  • Collaborate with Public Affairs and Brand marketing to develop and execute digital and non-personal promotional strategy and above-brand tactics, aligned to corporate and brand objectives.

  • Develop customized channel/segment strategies and marketing initiatives to support organized customers (Kaiser, VA/DoD, Corrections, etc.).

  • Drive execution of the Managed Markets brand identity.

Customer Engagement

  • Lead planning, and execution of key internal and external managed markets meetings and conferences

  • Partner with Market Research to assess payers’ perceptions and attitudes towards Gilead on an annual basis.

  • Develop and support large national and regional customer strategies and initiatives through identifying, developing, and implementing innovative partnerships, programs, and services aligned to corporate and brand objectives (health equity, SDoH, disease care management, member education, etc.).

Operational Efficiency and Effectiveness:

  • Maintain existing technologies and business processes, such as governance, tools, templates.

  • Manage a library of market research, surveys, and other reports relevant to the managed markets marketing function.

  • Establish methods to drive operational consistency and process improvement across the managed markets team.

  • Ensure the right technology and business processes are in place with appropriate governance, tools, and templates to enable KPI measurement, decision-making, and broad alignment across Managed Markets Marketing and cross-functional stakeholders.

Other:

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory guidelines governing commercial and scientific interactions with healthcare professionals, payers, advocacy, and other business partners.

  • Manage and maintain budget and accruals process.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and Twelve Years’ Experience

OR

Masters' Degree and Ten Years’ Experience

OR

PhD and Eight Years’ Experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge and experience across managed markets, brand marketing, and sales management in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or related industries.

  • Prior experience and success in one or more virology-focused areas.

  • Solid track record of leading without authority and influencing decision-making to gain consensus.

  • Proven ability to drive robust managed market recommendations through strong analysis, storytelling, and executive presentation skills.

  • Experience working with PRC (promotional review committee) and an understanding of basic marketing principles/processes.

  • Understanding of the regulatory environment, including programs designed to educate patients and prescribers on drug safety and appropriate use.

The salary range for this position is: $221,170.00 - $286,220.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
