State of Massachusetts Program Coordinator III - SAU - Framingham in Framingham, Massachusetts

Duties: Responsible for managing individual program plans within the Secure Adjustment Unit at MCI Framingham. Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team in the SAU, under the direction of the Unit Director to ensure each incarcerated individual’s progress to program goals is tracked, and feedback is provided. Responsible for entering information regarding the individuals progress in the IMS case plan, in addition to the case file. Attend a minimum of three MDT meetings weekly to discuss the individual’s progress toward goals with various staff to include: Unit Director, Security, Program Vendor, Mental Health Providers, and Education. Communicate regularly with participants on their progress toward program goals, status in program, and points awarded weekly. Coordinate and document the delivery of all services, participant adherence to treatment and behavioral plans. Track the progress of the individual in the phase system and incentive programs as relevant to Secure Adjustment Unit and provide that information directly to the participant as necessary. Communicate regularly with administration and security staff to better understand the individual’s needs and progress. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with case management and program plan record keeping. Excellent written/verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of the Department of Correction’s operating procedures, security management, classification, treatment, and assessment. One to three years of correctional or criminal justice experience. Familiarity and knowledge of mental health field and experience in dealing with special needs populations such as mentally ill, developmentally, or otherwise disabled, or substance use patients. Expertise in program application, and case management.* *Comments: * This is a Civil Service position. MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) four years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative or managerial experience in business administration, business management or public administration the major duties of which involved program management, program administration, program coordination, program planning and/or program analysis, and (B) of which at least one year must have been in a supervisory capacity, or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below. Substitutions: I. A Bachelor's degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the required (A) experience. II. A Graduate degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of three years of the required (A) experience.* III. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required (A) experience. Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
