It is therefore critical to evaluate the impact of our CHC products in environment, to define the best formula for our future R&D pipeline and to lead the external engagement with Competent Authorities around “Pharmaceuticals in Environment” (PiE). We, within Sanofi CHC, are convinced in the needs to develop this capability internally.

Main responsibilities:

  • You lead Sanofi CHC Eco-pharmaco stewardship program striving to protect patient access to medicines while appropriately considering environmental aspects, a science-based approach that take into account the product life-cycle in order to minimize the impact of pharmaceuticals releases into the environment (water/air/soil), including patients’ emissions

  • You are an inspirational leader that elaborates the best strategy, long-term goals and roadmap for effective implementation, in collaboration with stakeholders (GRA, R&D, Growth Brands Leads, HSE, Procurement, Public Affairs, Legal, etc.), driven by science but action-oriented to deliver meaningful results

  • You lead activities and supporting R&D related to Ecotoxicological studies of chemical substances incl. the selection of APIs

  • You will ensure implementation in each global brand strategy

  • You will support the manufacturing sites if requested, with wastewater/air-emissions treatment strategy and mitigation plans

  • You will represent Sanofi CHC in various advocacy groups related to PIE such as Neres, AESGP and GSCF, to work with industry peers on the evolution of the regulatory environment sharing expertise and leading some advocacy topics

  • You will define and develop CHC standards, guides, tools and training for PIE, Waste Water and air emissions to spread awareness within the GBU

  • You will support procurement and HSE audit with supplier's risk management for PIE operational

About you

  • You have strong leadership skills to inspire a cross-functional team (e.g. science and growth hub teams) for strategy implantation in the brands plans and culture change

  • Your abilities to communicate, engage and influence seniors’ leaders with mitigations plans will be a key successor factor for Sanofi CHC Eco-pharmaco stewardship program

  • You will work collaboratively with other functions and build a solid internal network, relationships, and partnership models including external stakeholders

  • Your experience and visionary skills will let Sanofi CHC enhance its reputation and mitigate any potential related-risk (legal, license to operate, reputational), despite of the fact of current very fast moving regulatory frame with strengthen requirements to limit releases of pharmaceuticals into the environment (antimicrobial resistances, endocrine disruptors, active ingredients, etc.), but also due to complexity legacy portfolio of products and limited knowledge available

  • You have a degree in Life Science, Environmental, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or a related field. With minimum 10 years’ experience in a relevant industry e.g, pharmaceutical, biotech or chemical manufacturing as an environmental/ecotoxicology/waste water treatment professional with a sustained track record in im-proving performance, developing strategy and delivery
