The role of the Product Owner – Technical Services, Life Sciences will partner with the Life Sciences Services team to understand business challenges and determine how the Technical Services Product(s) can shape and drive our digital transformation. This individual will have the opportunity to collaborate with internal and external industry and technology experts and help deliver on our vision of being a Digital First Services organization. This position will be a part of TGS (Technology & Global Services)

Knowledge and hands-on experience with the Technical Services Ecosystem and its capabilities is a key requirement of the role. Experience with Services technologies such as ServiceMax, Salesforce Service Cloud, Microsoft Dynamics 365 or IFS is required. Knowledge and understanding of Services capabilities such as customer portals, telephony, field services, remote servicing, spare parts planning, car stock management as well as understanding of ERP and Quality capabilities in support of Medical Technology Services is highly desired. Experience with implementation of data science, advanced analytics, IoT, AR / VR and AI in support of Services is preferred.

This position reports to the Sr. Director, IDS, in the TGS (Technology Global Services) business partner organization.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The objective of this role is to actively partner with relevant stakeholders in the Life Sciences business, TGS, the broader Services organization across BDx and external vendors to drive delivery of the associated work deliverables/products to advance the Services business objectives.

Partnering with the Product Management team and the Agile team, primary responsibilities are:

  • Acts as the crucial link between the Product Management and Agile teams to ensure the right Services solutions are built the right way

  • Supports and drives the Services product strategy implementation

  • Applies a customer-centric approach to ensure solutions delivered meet the evolving customer needs (both internal and external) and uses innovations in technology

  • Brings end-to-end solution thinking, and prioritizes agility and iterative value delivery

  • Contributes to product vision & roadmap and communicates the same to the team

  • Identifies key stakeholders and balances customer, business and technical partner needs

  • Defines and prioritizes User Stories for implementation

  • Accepts User Stories; decomposes features into User Stories

  • Supports measuring and communicating value realized on a periodic basis through defined and agreed upon metrics and supporting analysis

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of strategic understanding, services (business and technology) experience, exceptional relationship building skills and solution-oriented mentality. In addition, this person should also possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or business or equivalent relevant work experience required.

  • 7+ year professional experience and experience in product development processes and operations within a Medical Device, FDA regulated environment

  • Deep understanding specifically of the Services systems (the Services ecosystem) – its considerations, opportunities, and challenges

  • Hands-on experience in several of the following technology areas: Software Design, Software Frameworks, API design and implementation, Streaming and Data & Analytics Services, Cloud Architectures, Technology strategy & roadmaps, DevSecOps, Security and Privacy and Web/Mobile UX platforms

  • Experience in system development life cycle, testing and release cycle protocols including business requirements documentation, test scenarios/data/execution, cutover, hypercare, project planning and status reporting

  • Excellent communication skills: Ability to communicate complex business / technical challenges in a simplified manner

  • Ability to influence change using positive and collaborative methods

  • Highly collaborative work style which includes working effectively across all organizational boundaries and levels

  • Experience challenging the status quo and bringing forth innovative ideas and creative solutions

  • Experience working in a highly matrixed organization and in overcoming ambiguity

  • Leading by example, mentoring, coaching and motivating others all around you

  • Analytical, evaluative, intellectually curious, and problem-solving abilities

  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills

  • Able to align and work with diverse stakeholders

  • Strong humility, listening, creativity, influencing and negotiation skills

  • Product Management, Agile methodology and experience with its associated tools is a plus
