PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- - Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods, production and test equipment.

``` - - Coordinates changes to assembly process flow, including process control plans.

``` - - Carries out process improvements, problem resolution, project management and employee training.

```{=html}

``` - - Improves manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement and efficiency.

``` - - Designs, develops and tests and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing processes.

``` - - Prepares and maintains layouts of buildings, tools and equipment.

```{=html}

``` - - Assures compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.

```{=html}

``` - - Develops and documents quality system for new programs (control plan, PFMEA, process flow, work instructions, and inspection plans.)

``` - - Identifies continuous improvement opportunities and implements quick win strategies as part of the GEP Management Operating System (MOS).

``` - - Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- - B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

``` - - Five plus years of experience in automotive assembly (powertrain assembly preferred).

``` - - Working knowledge of MS office applications (MS Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).

``` - - AutoCAD proficiency preferred.

```{=html}

``` - - PLC Programming and troubleshooting experience preferred.

```{=html}

``` - - Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, assembly and production equipment.

``` - - Problem analysis and problem resolution.

```{=html}

``` - - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

PHYSICAL EFFORT

- - Sight: must be able to regularly read computer screen, reports, and various documents with detail and clarity so as to accomplish work tasks in a safe and efficient manner. This includes regular use of adequate close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
