Robert Half Human Resources (HR) Manager in Fremont, California

Position: Standalone HR/Payroll Manager

Duration: 3-6 months

Location: On-site in Fremont, 5 days a week.

We are offering an opportunity for a Human Resources (HR) Manager to join our team located in Fremont, California. In this role, you will be at the forefront of managing an employee's lifecycle from beginning to end for up to 53 employees across 6 different terminals. You will also be responsible for payroll processing, ensuring compliance with state guidelines, and maintaining a comfortable working environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the end-to-end management of an employee's lifecycle.

• Process payroll and administer benefits including 401k, PTO, garnishments, and health insurance programs.

• Conduct bill reconciliation and audits as needed.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as company policies.

• Monitor employees' compliance with wage laws and identify any compliance risks.

• Implement mitigation strategies for identified compliance risks.

• Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and initiatives across the organization.

• Maintain and update the employee handbook.

• Support employee morale and manage employee performance evaluations.

• Comfortably handle office management duties in a blue-collar environment.

• Proficiently use HRIS: ADP Workforce Now.

Requirements

• Proven experience in the field of Human Resources and Payroll processing

• Comprehensive knowledge and experience with ADP Workforce Now and ADP - Payroll systems

• Proficiency in managing Benefit Functions and Benefits Administration

• Demonstrated expertise in ensuring compliance with HR laws and regulations

• Strong background in handling Employee Relations and resolving conflicts

• Proven track record in implementing and managing Performance Management systems

• Ability to develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business needs

• Excellent leadership and people management skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred

• Professional certification in Human Resources (such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) is a plus2
