General Summary

A Construction Quality Control Manager is responsible for ensuring that construction projects meet specified standards and requirements. The primary focus is on maintaining the quality of the construction process and the final product.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must have the ability to read, and interpret construction drawings

  • Perform difficult and challenging construction and project management functions including planning, directing and budgeting for assigned projects.

  • Responsible for coordinating inspections with the government, documenting findings, and resolving all deficiencies.

  • Responsible for government inspections and subcontract inspections for definable feature of work.

  • Review, approve and manage deliverables.

  • Review and assist with project design plan review to accomplish contractual objectives and provide direction and support to subcontractors, support staff, trades and crafts.

  • Responsible for assisting on the development of agendas for construction updates and progress meetings

  • Perform desktop publishing. Creates and assists in the development of visual presentations for the section.

  • This position may also consult with engineering staff and other technical personnel as required.

  • Responsible for keeping current on government regulations and commercial trends. Monitors project compliance requirements to ensure compliance with all required codes and standards

  • Maintain customer relations through communication both face to face, and digital. Professional appearance is desirable.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements

  • Knowledge of U.S. Government procurement regulations and labor laws desirable

  • Must have or be able to pass Corps of Engineers CQM class for contractors

  • Advanced management and employee, and customer relations skills.

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Project.

  • Experience with P6 (Oracle) is preferred.

  • Experience with ProCore is preferred

  • Advanced attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while attending to multiple tasks and demands.

Work Experience

  • 5 years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

  • Experience with US Corps of Engineers, government contracting and general construction

  • 4 years of Supervisory experience preferred

Education, Licenses and Certification

Required:

  • High School Diploma

Required:

  • Completion of OSHA 30-hour General Industry course

  • Certified Safety, Environmental and Emergency Manager (CSEM) preferred

  • Within 8 months of reporting on site the SSO will attend the following classes provided by the American Society of Hospital Engineers: NFPA 101 for Healthcare (3 day course), NFPA 99 (3 day course), and ASHE Healthcare Construction Certificate (2 day course). The contractor will provide to the COR a copy of the certificate of completion for each of these courses
