Job Description:

The UF Health Cancer Center is the 72nd NCI designated cancer center and the only one at a public university in the State of Florida. As a matrix cancer center, we span 11 of the University of Florida's 16 colleges, pulling together a world-class, multi-disciplinary membership of over 330 faculty and 150 staff to address the challenges of the cancer burden faced by the population we serve as we work together to find a cure.

As a Cancer Training & Education Program Lead at the UF Health Cancer Center (UFHCC), you will be responsible for overseeing programmatic operations as well as the design and management of a comprehensive internal cancer trainee database to efficiently and effectively track cancer trainee metrics and outcomes from across the institution. Additionally, a high degree of professionalism, discretion, critical thinking, and independent judgment is necessary for success in this role.

In your new role you will be responsible for the following:

  • Assisting the Program Manager in developing and overseeing the Education unit responsible for the Cancer Training & Education Program of the Cancer Center including daily supervision of the Education team.

  • overseeing the administration and coordination of UFHCC controlled training and academic programs.

  • designing and maintaining a comprehensive database of cancer trainee and alumni data collected from UFHCC programs and members.

  • reporting and metrics management related to UFHCC education initiatives

This is an experienced level position, ideal for candidates with Six to eight years’ experience in training program administration. Employees in these roles operate as part of our collaborative research enterprise and are fundamental to the progress of cancer research being conducted at the University of Florida. Expected Salary:

$62,000-$70,000; commensurate with education & experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree and three years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Education, Public Administration, Business Administration, or another relevant discipline.

  • Six to eight years’ experience in training program administration, graduate program management, research administration, or similar, with preference for experience in an NCI-designated cancer center or similar, complex NIH funded center.

  • Extensive experience administering graduate and/or trainee programs, preference given to STEM programs, graduate medical education, etc.

  • Experience in database design and management, metrics development, and reporting.

  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a resource and SME on training grant administration and programs (e.g. T-32).

  • Understanding, knowledge, and awareness of NCI Cancer Research Training & Education Coordination component requirements.
