Job Description:
The Department of Pharmacodynamics at the University of Florida seeks a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to work under the mentorship of Dr. Brandon Warren. The postdoctoral researcher will lead experiments investigating the role of rac1 in neuronal ensembles during cocaine self-administration using transgenic rats, mice, and AAVs.
Key duties include designing and executing behavioral experiments, performing rodent surgeries, and implementing molecular techniques including AAV vector delivery, RNAseq, and single cell transcriptomics. The researcher will collect, analyze, and interpret behavioral and molecular data, maintain meticulous records in lab notebooks and employ advanced data analysis techniques. In addition to research, the postdoc will preserve lab operations, including equipment maintenance, inventory, and compliance with safety and ethical guidelines. The researcher will also mentor graduate students and research assistants. The researcher will prepare findings for publication, present at conferences, and assist with grant applications. Effective management of both physical and digital data is expected.

Minimum Requirements:
Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Behavioral Neuroscience, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with advanced data analysis techniques, including machine learning
A track record of peer-reviewed publications
Experience with rodent behavioral models
Familiarity with molecular techniques such as AAV vectors and transgenic animals
Strong analytical and communication skills
