Job Overview
Working within the operations group, and reporting to the Site operations Director, the Facilities manager will lead the facilities team to deliver exceptional service to the wider organization. You will have the ability to manage a team of various resources who have responsibility for the overall upkeep, safety, and functionality of the plant's infrastructure, ensuring a safe and compliant working environment. You will be forward thinking in your approach with the vision to plan for constantly evolving business demands whilst maintaining & improving existing performance. You should understand the demands of an organisation that is constantly changing and be able to adapt to ever changing priorities and a variable workload
Job Responsibilities
Oversee the maintenance of the plant's building, machinery, utilities, and grounds, ensuring all systems (HVAC, Compressed Air, Water generation, Waste treatment, electrical, etc.) are in optimal condition and future ready.
Manage a team of facilities specialists to maintain plant services and deliver new services and infrastructure as required.
Ensure that the business continuity plan is kept up to date and relevant.
Ensure that capital projects are identified and approved in a timely manner and in line with business needs.
Ensure that projects are executed to time and to budget and are adequately resourced with the correct skillsets.
Overseeing and agreeing contracts and providers for services including security, cleaning, catering & general maintenance ensuring a cost effective and quality service.
Develop and manage the facility’s operational budget, ensuring that all expenditures are justified and cost-effective and that costs are consistently challenged and reduced.
Analyze energy usage, implement cost-saving strategies, and manage resources efficiently to reduce operating costs
Ensuring that facilities areas of responsibility are compliant with legislative requirements & EHS standards.
Support EHS functions to deliver a safer and more sustainable workplace.
Responsibility for the Space Management strategy and process ensuring that the Galway site is proactive and timely in our management of space.
Develop and implement security policies and procedures to protect the plant’s physical infrastructure, employees, and confidential information
Provide training and mentorship to ensure staff are equipped with the skills to maintain the facility and respond to various types of incidents.
What your background should look like:
Qualifications
A Level 8 Engineering degree is preferable.
7-10 yrs experience in a large multinational facilities environment.
A demonstrated ability to deliver on aggressive project timelines.
Key Requirements
Experience of working in Medical Device industry with strong familiarity with quality requirements and manufacturing systems.
Strong knowledge of environmental legislative requirements in key areas such as waste management/Air emissions/Chemical waste management
Strong knowledge of Safety management in key areas such as machine guarding/ATEX environments, chemical systems, electrical systems.
Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills with a proven ability to bring other functions on board and work together proactively to deliver key projects.
Motivated to work on own initiative.
A proven track record of identifying and implementing improvements
Strong decision-making ability & commercial awareness
Ability to develop talent and to lead and manage teams
A proven track record of a forward-thinking mentality.
