Graduate Practical Nurse (GPN)
Job Overview:
As a GPN you’ll play a vital role in promoting the health, wellness, and illness prevention of residents. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), you will develop hands-on skills, provide personal care, and deliver treatments to support resident recovery and well-being. This position is ideal for recent nursing graduates preparing for the NCLEX and looking to build their nursing careers.
Responsibilities:
Administer treatments and medications in compliance with care plans and nursing standards.
Perform clinical procedures and accurately document clinical data.
Provide compassionate care and support to residents while ensuring their safety and dignity.
Collaborate with fellow staff, residents, and families to achieve optimal outcomes.
Qualifications:
Age: Minimum 18 years old.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Licensure: New York State Practical Nurse licensure or registered for NCLEX (required).
Background Check: No findings or convictions related to resident abuse, mistreatment, or misappropriation of property.
Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Compassionate bedside manner and a team-oriented mindset.
Physical endurance for frequent activity, including the ability to lift at least 20 pounds.
