Overview

Responsible for a team of technicians who provide support activities required for upkeep and maintenance of warehouse MHE (Material Handling Equipment) systems at several SGWS locations to ensure they function as intended to support ongoing business operations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage a support team to achieve business objectives including the attainment of targets for customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, service levels, resolution time, and project deadlines

  • Ensure that direct reports have the resources, information, and processes necessary to deliver effective technical solutions to our customers

  • Manage a data-driven, evidence-based approach to support strategic decision-making

  • Drive Performance and Operational Initiatives as necessary

  • Proactively work to reduce costs and improve productivity (Continuous Improvement)

  • Provide training for employees on procedures/systems

  • Set and maintain adherence to Escalation protocols in providing the first level of support to resolve incidents involving infrastructure and client technology, including but not limited to client hardware/software, printers, and network components in MHE production systems

  • Handle incidents & provide support to the team and triage as needed

  • Building and broadcasting reports for SCM Technology Reporting

  • Follow up on root cause analysis of reliability issues to prevent reoccurrence

  • Ensure effective administration and compliance of all internal processes and procedures

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Additional Primary Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree – Engineering, preferred

  • 5 or more years of relevant experience

  • 3 or more years of work experience in Warehouse Operations & Support

  • Understanding of IT infrastructure, including (e.g., printers, PC's, software programs)

  • Knowledge of wholesale distribution is strongly preferred

  • MS Office and other general desktop software experience with an advanced understanding of Excel

  • Must have some experience with troubleshooting and provisioning MS Windows-based systems

  • Strong organizational & time management skills. Must be able to multi-task, prioritize effectively, and change direction on short notice in an effective manner

Physical Demands

  • Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or mobile device

  • Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping

  • Work week will often exceed 40 hours including working mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays when required

  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
