IBM Business Analyst with COBOL in Banking Sector (f/m/x) in Geneva, Switzerland

Introduction

In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world.​ Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Consultant you will serve as a client-facing practitioner who sells, leads and implements expert services utilizing the breadth of IBM's offerings and technologies. A successful Consultant is regarded by clients as a trusted business advisor who collaborates to provide innovative solutions used to solve the most challenging business problems.

You will work on projects that help clients integrate strategy, process, technology, and information to increase effectiveness, reduce costs and improve profit and shareholder value. You can take advantage of opportunities to master new skills, work across different disciplines, move into new challenges and develop a robust understanding of different industries.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Identify business drivers and goals and develop compelling proposals and value-driven business cases to achieve desired business outcomes

  • Translate client's business needs into business requirements and participate in the production of detailed design and technical specifications.

  • Understand the requirements, current state architecture of the enterprise and create roadmap for the future enhancements accordingly.

Your impact:

  • Provide expertise across application portfolio / landscape (preferably on cash domain processes)

  • Define a solution approach and implementation strategy for the team execution

  • Gather business requirement by managing the client workshops

  • Propose solutions to the client stakeholders

  • Create estimates for technical & functional (incl. NFR) assumptions

  • Provide clear guidance to create work products in collaboration with the team, review work products for design & code, and drive technical enhancements

  • Work with support teams in resolving critical incidents

  • Identify technical bottlenecks and help to remove them

  • Implements remediation activities correctly

  • Work with the team members to ensure completeness in knowledge transfer

  • Support new team members to learn on-the-job and acquire necessary skills to work independently in SME scope

  • Escalate technical concerns / risks related to Development Lead

  • Act as the interface between business and IT and contribute to agile development teams

  • Determine solutions to software/hardware problems

  • Be a business consultant to clients

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience in Banking domain - have worked and carrying expert knowledge of banking domain areas (Cash, Securities, Finance and Static Data, Fees, Tax, Treasury etc)

  • Knowledge in:

  • Cash - Pay and Receive, SWIFT/SIC SEPA, Foreign Exchange, Deposits, Call Deposits, Fiduciary, Money Market, Credit, Loans, Mortgages, Credit Cards, Cheque, Guarantees, Letter of Credit, Teller, Cash reconciliation (MT940/950)

  • Securities - Stock Exchange, STP Chain SX, Trade matching, Stock Delivery, Commodities, Corporate actions, Securities blocking, Derivatives, Funds/Hedge funds, Dividends and Income, Securities basic information, Securities lending, Securities reconciliation (MT535), Collateral management, FX options

  • Finance and Static Data - Accounting, Accounts, Client basic information, retrocession, risk management (Position, Limits etc.)

  • Reporting and Client Documents - Account statements, Transaction Advices, Portfolio holding statements, Legal reporting, EMIR reporting

  • Fees, Tax and Fiscality - Fiscality, Pricing, QI and FATCA, Stamp Tax

  • Treasury - Repo, IRS, OIS, Swaption

  • Swiss nationality or valid Swiss work permit / EU passport

  • Fluent in English (written & spoken)

  • Knowledge of French is a strong plus
