About the role:

The Environmental Project Specialist will be responsible for manage projects and regulatory obligations arising from the continually changing sustainability landscape in Europe. This position will have responsibility for identifying or responding to new sustainability related business requirements and collaborating with various countries and business functions to fulfill those business requirements.

This position is part of the Environmental, Health & Safety department located in Europe. The position will be remote and will have occasional travel.

In this role, you will:

  • Monitor and address new and changing environmental and sustainability regulatory requirements related to business operations in EU countries.

  • Following analysis, provide expert recommendations addressing the business impact to comply with new or revised regulatory requirements in area of responsibility

  • Lead implementation of improvement projects, including preparing project proposals and collaborating with other functions as needed to acquire resources needed.

  • Develop and contribute to sustainability related engagement activities including identifying and pursuing opportunities to engage with communities local to Hach operations in Europe and the United Kingdom.

  • Lead, drive, integrate, and educate European teams on the implementation of new sustainability processes.

Are you qualified?

  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) with a focus in Environmental Management & Sustainability, Occupational Safety & Health Management, Industrial Hygiene, or other related science/engineering degree (required).

Experience (preferred)

  • 3+ years EHS and/or sustainability program development & implementation

  • 3+ years' experience driving projects and leading data using lean and six sigma tools such as problem-solving, value stream mapping, and kaizen events.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.
