Seeking a Maintenance Mechanic in Gilroy, CA

Job Description

The Mechanic role involves installing, troubleshooting, adjusting, and repairing production equipment and electrical components. The successful applicant will diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine how to correct them, perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure production machines are performing optimally, and inspect drives, motors, and belts. The role also involves replacing faulty parts, wires, motors, controls, circuit boards, and dismantling equipment to gain access and remove defective parts. The Mechanic will operate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, grease, weld, cut, change parts, and complete tasks as assigned. Additionally, the role requires the ability to review and comprehend blueprints, schematics, repair manuals, and parts catalogues. The successful candidate will also be expected to operate all production machines to some degree to better understand machine capabilities.

Hard Skills

  • 5 Years of Maintenance experience

  • Working knowledge of Hydraulics

  • Pneumatics

  • Mechanics

  • Electrical principles

  • Manufacturing and/or Industrial environment experience

Soft Skills

  • Ability to diagnose and resolve issues

  • Ability to perform maintenance tasks

  • Ability to comprehend blueprints and repair manuals

  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Gilroy, California.

Work Environment

This role is responsible for the overall maintenance and repair of equipment, tools, and machinery as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Head Mechanic. Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.
