As the Asphalt Foreman, you serve as a hands-on leader for their construction crew members. The Asphalt Foreman thinks about the big picture to plan the work, and then follows through with the plan. They are accountable for the safety, quality, and productivity of all crew members while completing construction projects for our customers. Reporting to the Operations leader, you lead your crew overseeing coaching and developing all members of your team to achieve their highest potential.

What You'll Do

  • Plan and manage construction jobs from start to finish, including hands on wherever needed

  • Provide on time and complete paperwork, reports, and status updates

  • Coordinate Equipment and Construction Crews

  • Oversee Dig Safe marking and coordinate any issues with utilities

  • Support the crew by operating equipment, and doing labor as needed

  • Train workers in the proper use of equipment, processes, safety and quality

  • Analyze and resolve work problems

  • Maintain and manage time records, paperwork, safety reports

  • Other duties as requested by leadership

What You'll Have

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred

  • 2 years of experience in Asphalt Restoration as a Foreman or Operator

  • Knowledge of one or more of the following is required: civil construction, underground utilities, traffic control, road paving, or wet utilities.

  • OSHA Competent Person Certified is preferred

  • Ability to understand plans/blueprints to ensure projects meet all building/code requirements

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, be very detail oriented, have strong organizational and time management skills

  • Proven success in meeting critical deadlines under stressful conditions

  • Strong sense of personal responsibility and desire to keep crew safe

Work Environment

  • Work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions

  • All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English

  • Work includes prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling

  • Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late when necessary with little or no notice

  • Work is performed within the “red zone” of heavy equipment

  • Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

Legal Stuff

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
