The Glenwood Community School District is currently accepting applications for a Payroll and Benefits Administrative Assistant at the Central Office. This position would start immediately. The starting wage is $19.22/hr. This is a full-time position with benefits.

CLASSIFIED STAFF JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Payroll and Benefits Administrative Assistant
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required: associate degree preferred.
- Knowledge of basic computer word processing, spreadsheet and bookkeeping.
- Ability to apply public relations skills effectively.
- Utilize oral and written channels of communication effectively.
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer
Consults With: Superintendent, Administrators, Central Office Personnel, and district wide staff
Position Goal: To complete detailed work and to coordinate other matters essential to the efficiency and effectiveness of the district office
Performance Responsibilities:
- Assist with comprehensive payroll processing twice per month - 11th and 25th.
- Ensures timely and accurate filing of payroll tax deposits with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Iowa Department of Revenue
- Assists with preparation and submission of the monthly, quarterly, and annual reports including but not limited to IRS 941s, Unemployment, Medicaid, BLS, and others as needed.
- Processes required cash receipts and journal entries for payroll monthly.
- Adds new employees and inactivates terminating employees to software applications including Software Unlimited Payroll, TMS, and Frontline.
- Serves as subject matter expert for the TMS time management system.
- Administers accurate employee leave benefits using TMS and Frontline.
- Assists in administration of Absence Management using the Frontline HR system.
- Administers payroll processing of employee retirement benefits for IPERS and 403 b plan.
- Administers payroll processing of employee insurance benefit deductions including health, dental, vision life, long term disability and flexible spending accounts.
- Serves as onboarding, enrollment, and offboarding lead for all benefits including: health insurance, dental insurance, vision, critical illness and accident policies, flexible spending (FSA), and life insurance for all employees.
- Serves as district point of contact for policy and benefit inquiries for all employees.
- Assists with ensuring accuracy of annual contracted compensation and hourly pay rates
- Annual preparation and distribution of W-2s, 1095s and other required tax reporting.
- Completes verification of employment reports as needed.

Terms of Employment: Twelve-month position.
Salary shall be subject to annual review and modification by the Glenwood Board of Education.
Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the Boards policy on Classified Staff Evaluation.
