SUMMARY

Being a Food Technologist at IFF is an incredible opportunity to bring flavors and ingredients as a total solution to our customers in Dairy category. Reporting to Design Team Leader, this position fulfills an important technical function within IFF Indonesian – Nourish division. This role requires the candidate to work closely with Commercial Team and their customers, as well as with Flavorists, other Food Technologists, Marketing and Product Experience to convert Innovation, Consumer Insights, Market Trends and Project Briefs into preferred solutions for the customers, their brands, and their consumers. This role also supports the enabling process of local and regional business initiatives.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND LEAD

Scope of Role

Driving successful project execution, the implementation and commercialization of IFF Innovation in Dairy category for Indonesia.

Working closely with cross functional teams to execute the Commercial and Innovation Strategies.

Activities include:

• Establish project planning and develop excellent dairy prototypes in response to internal and external customer development briefs.

• Support and drive the use of new ingredients and technologies within the business.

• Constantly evolving knowledge of ingredients, flavor interactions, formulation and processes in associated category applications.

• Connect with other experts both local and regional to develop best practice for experimental design and formulation.

• Interact with customers through demonstration of technical expertise and problem-solving ability.

• Interfacing with cross functional team as necessary for completion of job tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

• Independently work on customers’ projects to select and recommend appropriate flavor and ingredient solutions in compliance with customer’s needs, legal, cost and stability requirements within established timelines.

• Work in a close collaboration with Sales/Marketing, Flavorists, Product Experience, Regulatory and other departments to support project execution.

• Participate in new ideas/concepts generation and other innovation activities.

Strategy and Business Knowledge

• Develop network of IFF staff to expand application and business knowledge.

• Establish relationship with customers and related categories.

• Demonstrate understanding of the market evolution and consumer preference of the assigned category.

Technical and Product Management

• Develop application formulations based on industrial standards, country specific requirements and customers’ requirements.

• Understand and continuously expanding knowledge of flavor and ingredient functions and performances in different applications, as well as knowledge on end products’ manufacturing process.

• Use Creative/Innovative skills to develop relevant new concepts.

• Provide total solutions utilizing creative problem-solving skills.

• Share knowledge with the team.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

• Degree in Food Science or any other relevant discipline.

• Minimum 5 years’ experience handling product development in dairy category or any similar role within food manufacturing, food ingredients, or flavor industry.

• Strong knowledge of raw materials, product development, formulation, processing, and regulations governing the use of these ingredients in various dairy applications within the food industries.

• Strong project management and experimental design skills.

• Innovative thinker and problem solver with a creative flair and a passion for beverages

• Self-starter (independent) with ability to work in a cross functional team environment.

• Communicating and presenting locally and regionally.

• Good communication skills both written and verbal. English language is essential.

• Good operation skill of Microsoft Office System and company IS system.

• Experience in formulating industrial scale dairy products (RTD milk, powder milk, SCC/SCM, acidified milk, yoghurt, ice cream, etc) is preferred.
