Summary:

The Talent Acquisition Specialist performs a wide variety of activities to support Human Resources talent management and onboarding processes. Responsible for the full lifecycle recruitment and hiring process with overall responsibility for the sourcing, reviewing applications, presentation of qualified candidates to hiring manager and implementing hiring process. This role drives the assessment of external and internal talent to fill vacancies. Maintains a progressive and proactive recruiting system using multiple recruitment and advertising sources for potential candidates, as well as promoting UNC Health Wayne as a strong “employer of choice” in the community. Works collaboratively with third party vendors who provide products and systems used in recruiting and onboarding activities. Develops strong pipelines of key workforce opportunities through the cultivation of new opportunities and partnerships from key targets (colleges, community programs, etc.).

This individual partners closely with the Director, Human Resources, Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist, Senior Onboarding and Retention Specialist, Human Resources Business Partner and hiring leaders.

Responsibilities:

  1. Recruiting Strategy: Ensures the delivery of high quality recruitment to a group of assigned clients. Understands employment market conditions, trends in recruitment, employment law and specific area of assignment. Identifies department business objectives with hiring manager. Builds partnerships within the community (trade schools, colleges, community workforce programs, etc.). Seeks out ways to attract new sources of qualified talent. Leads and participates in recruiting events. Accountable for working with and facilitating efficient and effective full life cycle recruitment and selection processes (requisition, post, source, prescreen, schedule, verification of licensure/certification, background and reference checks, offer, onboarding, etc.) with a goal of minimizing cost-per-hire and time-to-hire.

  2. Collaboration & Consultation: Builds and maintains relationships and business partnerships with hiring managers, HR colleagues, external organizations, and candidates. Manages external vendors and agencies to ensure compliance with policies, procedures and practices. Demonstrates initiative and facilitates the resolution of departmental and divisional issues without prompting. May train hiring leaders regarding applicant tracking process, recruitment strategies, and behavioral based interviewing techniques.

  3. Sourcing & Offers: Partners with Sr. Talent Acquisition Specialist and hiring managers to convey a clear understanding of position requirements for positions so that sourcing efforts are directed to candidates with the right skill mix necessary for the position. Forwards qualified candidates to hiring leaders in a timely manner. Provides offer recommendations to hiring departments based on institutional policy, market data and internal equity. Extends and negotiates formal offer. Demonstrates awareness of salary trends and brings relevant information to Compensation for review.

  4. Recruiting Cycle: Sources, screens candidates’ resumes and job applications. Conducts interviews using various reliable personnel selection tools/methods to filter candidates within schedule. Assesses applicants’ relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience and aptitudes. Using the applicant tracking system, ensures accurate and current records throughout the recruitment process to include tracking of all activity. Provides direction to leaders and teammates by advising, counseling, interpreting, and administering all human resources and talent acquisition policies and procedures to ensure consistent application and compliance. Ensures new hire paperwork is completed in a timely and efficient manner.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field from an accredited college/university required (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).

Licensure/Certification

• No licensure or certification required.

• Healthcare Recruiter certification, Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) preferred.

Experience

• One year recruitment or recruitment support experience preferred

• Relevant hospital experience preferred

• Experience with social media recruiting platforms, applicant tracking and HRIS systems preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of current talent acquisition practices, general employment practices and related legal requirements.

• Ability to build professional relationships and collaborate with internal and external partners.

• Ability to serve as a brand ambassador for UNC Health Wayne and build positive candidate and HR experiences.

• Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, multitasking skills

• Excellent follow up skills and attention to detail.

• Highly proficient with MS Office tools and able to learn new software rapidly.

• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.

Valid NC Driver’s License: No

If driving a Wayne UNC Vehicle, must be 21 years old and MVR must be approved by Risk Management.
