Robert Half is seeking a talented Staff Accountant to join a team located in Goleta, CA on a contract-to-hire basis. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in the finance department, responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain financial records, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Conduct variance analysis and report findings to management.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.

• Assist with audits, both internal and external, by providing necessary documentation and support.

• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.

• Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules.

• Assist in budget preparation and forecasting.

• Support special projects and process improvements as needed.

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.

• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with [specific software, if applicable] is a plus).

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
