About the Position: This position is with the 404th Army Field Support Brigade, Support Brigade Army Field Support Battalion. This position will be filled as a term appointment NTE 13 months. Responsibilities Serve as Physical Security Specialist with the Army Sustainment Command (ASC) in the S2/S3 operations. Provide staff guidance and effective security program entailing the protection of people, government property, conventional weapons, ammunition and explosives, terrorism counteraction, crime prevention and technical assistance. Manage programs relative to plans, readiness, mobilization, training, physical security of people, government property, conventional weapons/ munition/explosives, terrorism counteraction, crime prevention and technical assistance. Monitor progressive levels of physical security measures, identifying needs for potential implementation in response to threats to the United States Army personnel, information and critical resources. Coordinate plans, procedures and changes in Force Protection Condition (FPCON) levels with higher headquarters, tenant organization activities, and appropriate agencies. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Inspecting facilities to detect potential security breaches; 2) Compiling data on security infractions and compromises via interviews with personnel and observation of physical environments; AND 3) Notifying facility security personnel of possible inadequacies to provide suggested remedies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Situational telework is sometimes also referred to as episodic, intermittent, unscheduled, or ad-hoc telework. Situational telework is approved on a case-by-case basis, where the hours worked were not part of a previously approved, ongoing, and regular telework schedule. Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 13 months. Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years depending upon the needs of management. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.
