About this Role

The Foreman directs and supervises field crews engaged in the installation, testing, and repair of aerial and underground utilities, fixtures, and equipment. This role involves ensuring that all work is performed safely and in compliance with project specifications and industry regulations. The Foreman is responsible for planning daily work schedules, providing on-site training and support to crew members, and monitoring progress to ensure timely completion of projects.

Position is located in the DFW/Metro within 150-200 miles

What You'll Do

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct multiple crews working on distribution construction, maintenance, and repair projects.

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specified standards.

  • Enforce compliance with safety regulations (e.g., OSHA), and conduct safety meetings and inspections to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Ensure proper allocation of personnel, materials, and equipment to meet project demands, including scheduling and dispatching crews.

  • Monitor work quality to ensure all work adheres to industry standards, specifications, and company policies.

  • Track project milestones, assess performance, and adjust plans or resources as necessary to stay on schedule.

  • Train, mentor, and develop linemen, apprentices, and other crew members to improve performance and ensure they follow best practices.

  • Attend/Lead safety meetings and adhere to all safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

What You'll Bring

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • May be required to relocate as work requirements demand.

  • 6+ yrs in the trade with at least 1+ yrs working as a Foreman

  • Supervises field crews engaged in the maintenance and repair of electrical wires, fixtures, and equipment.

  • Prioritizes, schedules, and assigns work to foremen and their crews based on the extent of work required, urgency, and availability of resources.

  • Reviews work orders to assess project size and scope and determine resources required to complete jobs.

  • Coordinates electrical construction work with other departments and contractors.

  • Coordinates the ordering of materials, tools, and equipment for assigned projects and authorizes requisitions submitted by foremen.

  • Supervises the preparation of detailed work reports indicating number of employees, job location, time spent on each job, and related information.

  • Coordinates the training of subordinate personnel in proper safety methods and procedures.

  • Conducts regular and unannounced inspections of work in progress to ensure completion according to specifications, work schedules, and applicable municipal codes.

  • Reviews and approves time and attendance records submitted.

  • Oversees the preparation of and completes staff performance appraisals and initiates and administers disciplinary actions as required.

  • Walking and working across uneven terrain.

  • Valid Driver’s License and a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

    Physical Requirements:

  • Work from heights.

  • Able to lift 60 lbs unassisted.

  • Work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.

    Skills Requirements:

  • Possess critical thinking skills.

  • Able to effectively communicate with others.

  • Ability to communicate in writing.
