Weyerhaeuser GIS/Data Systems Analyst - Grande Prairie, AB in Grande Prairie, Alberta
General Information:As part of the Grande Prairie Timberlands Team, you will work cooperatively with all departments developing solutions based on the customer’s needs. This role will involve tracking and reporting key business metrics that improve the simplification, accuracy, and data generation that drives business improvements. You will need to manage multiple databases, ensure data integrity, and report out required information to various customers. You will work with and influence multiple external consultants and providers to deliver business solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate transfer and updates of both spatial and tabular data.
Key Functions:
- GIS technical support and training
- GIS analysis
- Maintenance/updates to the Forest Management System and other in-house databases
- Support mobile field collection workflows utilizing WebGIS and FieldMaps
- Implement quality assurance protocols to ensure GIS data integrity
- Tool/Script development for GIS process automation
- Champion the simplification and standardization of data management processes
Champion the integration of data systems across business functions (Planning, Harvest & Haul, and Silviculture)
GIS Degree / Diploma In lieu of degree/diploma, 5 years of relevant experience
- A minimum of 3 years of GIS experience required
- Forestry / Environmental Sciences Degree / Diploma preferred
- Operational Forestry experience preferred
- Experience with Silvacom FMS preferred
- Proficient with ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro: Creation/maintenance of geodatabases, map creation/automation, advanced data editing skills, Spatial Analyst, Network Analyst
- Experience with WebGIS (ArcGIS Online/ArcGIS Portal), Survery123, and FieldMaps
- Experience with GIS Process Automation: Model Builder/Python Scripting
- Experience working with relational database management systems
- Experience with data visualization and analytics

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $86,500 - $125,600 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 7% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.
