Opportunities, Inc.Job Announcement: Head Start Deputy DirectorLocation: Great Falls, MTSalary: Agency Pay Grade 11Open: December 20, 2024-January 2, 2025, at 4:00 pmPosition Overview:The Head Start Deputy Director will work collaboratively with the Head Start Director to provide leadership and oversight of Head Start and Early Head Start programs, ensuring compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS) and other regulations. The Deputy Director will support program planning, development, management, and staff supervision, particularly focusing on outlying area operations, safety, disabilities services, and facilities management.Key Responsibilities:1. Leadership & Program Management:o Serve as the Head Start Director's delegate in their absence.o Collaborate with the Director and Policy Council on program policies, procedures, grant applications, and budgets.o Lead outlying area program operations and childcare partnerships.2. Staff Supervision & Professional Development:o Supervise, evaluate, and support assigned staff, ensuring compliance with qualifications and fostering continuous learning.o Oversee training initiatives, including credential support for CDA and Associate Degrees.3. Program Planning & Implementation:o Develop and implement plans for Safety, Disabilities Services, and Training.o Conduct needs assessments to inform strategic initiatives.4. Compliance & Reporting:o Monitor program operations to ensure alignment with federal, state, and local regulations.o Prepare and submit reports for the Director, Policy Council, and Board.5. Family Engagement:o Support staff in fostering family engagement and addressing family needs.o Collaborate with the Policy Council to engage parents in program decision-making.Qualifications:· Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Early Childhood Education, Education Administration, or Business Administration.· Training and experience in Early Childhood Development.· Proven leadership in staff supervision, program management, and fiscal oversight.· Experience coordinating multiple projects and organizing comprehensive training.· Effective team building and conflict-resolution skills.· Ability to work independently and collaboratively.· Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and community stakeholders.
