KBR is seeking a Software Engineer supporting our mission at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.

Responsibilities

  • The candidate will be responsible for the development and management of simulations, tools and integrated software development environments for the design, development, verification, testing, manufacture, operation, and maintenance of such systems and apply algorithms to sensor data and assess performance

  • Work with team lead to define software requirements, and work with existing tools to support assignments

  • Support on-site meetings and deliveries to customers

  • Occasionally prepare and present briefings status briefings to customers

Required Qualifications

  • The candidate must possess specialized knowledge to predict, evaluate and manage critical performance attributes of software intensive systems such as real-time response and embedded hardware driven resource limits. This Includes knowledge of high-performance computing, graphical user interfaces, networking, data integrity and security.

  • Knowledge and ability to apply systematic, disciplined, and quantifiable approaches to the acquisition and development of software systems for spaceflight, ground support, airborne and facility applications.

  • Experience with applying algorithms for robotics applications

  • Proficient using the following programming tools: Python MATLAB, ASIST and C++

Preferred Experience

  • Familiar with NASA Processes and procedures for flight hardware development

  • Familiar with Systems Administration: Linux, Intranet/Networking, Server Systems Architecture

    Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or related field

  • Minimum of 5 years related experience

    NOTE: The work is to be performed mainly on site at NASA GSFC
