Job Description: The candidate shall provide Mechanical engineering support per customer direction. The support includes but is not limited to the following;

  • Provide expertise in flight electrical and electro-mechanical design.

  • Proficient in CAD software (CREO/Windchill, Solid Works, and NX) providing innovative and practical mechanical solutions in support of flight system development.

  • Ability to work all phases of mechanical subsystems from the conceptual design layout, package prototyping, fixture/tooling design, development of mechanical attachment methods/tools for mechanical systems.

  • Develop assembly and test procedures and support all levels of mechanical subsystem integration and tests.

  • Support trade studies and recommend system architecture and design approach.

  • Conduct analysis and evaluation of a design concept to produce realistic assessment of development and manufacturing risks. Develop strategies for mitigating risks.

  • Work with other engineers, technicians, manufacturing, and quality engineers in a team environment.

  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations and support project level reviews.

  • Write test procedures, plans, and reports as necessary.

Minimum Requirements

BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience. Minimum ten years of experience in space flight hardware development.

Experience and/or Education in lieu of these qualifications will be reviewed for applicability to meet these requirements.
