With over 120 faculty affiliates, The Center of Excellence in Cybersecurity Research, Education and Outreach ( CREO ) serves as the research nexus for inclusive, interdisciplinary, and innovative research, education and outreach using advanced mathematical and computational techniques, sociotechnical systems practices in computing and design, community-centered education, and policy efforts.

The Program Manager within CREO plays a pivotal role in facilitating interdisciplinary research, education, and outreach initiatives. In this position, the Program Manager oversees the coordination of all projects and initiatives aimed at advancing cybersecurity knowledge, policies, and practices.

They collaborate closely with students, faculty members, researchers, and industry partners to drive innovation and address emerging challenges in cybersecurity. Additionally, the Program Manager oversees educational programs, ensuring they remain cutting-edge and relevant to the evolving landscape of cybersecurity.

Through strategic outreach efforts, they engage with stakeholders to promote awareness and foster collaboration within the cybersecurity community. Overall, the Program Manager leverages their talent to translate CREO’s mission into actionable opportunities for our students, affiliates, and strategic partners.

This position also provides a broad range of administrative and financial management responsibilities in a multi-year research grant, including human resources management, administrative coordination, information analysis and decision-making, budget management, contract preparation for the project personnel and students, and developing written documents and project reports.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit:

• Serve as the academic and research nexus for the development of advanced mathematical and computational techniques

• Empower students, faculty and other members of the university community to engage in interdisciplinary thought and leadership in cybersecurity

• Evaluate and investigate socioeconomic practices and regulatory and public policy issues related to cybersecurity

• Create approaches to secure valuable assets from cyber-threats

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related business area; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions Prior experience in a project management role.

Preferred:

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills in a team-oriented environment. Experience in program planning and administration. Ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds, disciplines and functions. Strong technical writing, presentation, reporting, and documentation skills.

    This position may be eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement, consistent with university and state policies. N.C. A&T employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
