Robert Half Collections Specialist Greenville, SC in Greenville, South Carolina

Description We are offering an opportunity to join our team in Greenville, South Carolina, as a Collections Specialist. This role is centered around maintaining relations with internal and external customers and influencing payments from customers according to corporate goals and objectives. This role will interface with various internal teams and will require excellent communication skills, organization, and the ability to de-escalate stressful situations.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor a portfolio of accounts to assess receivables condition and prioritize work according to objectives

• Perform account analysis to identify trends, problems and root causes of ongoing issues, and outline solution plans to improve the situation

• Create weekly work plan to include customer calls, emails, and correspondence based on account status; execute said plan, and document progress towards said plan via account notes and status updates

• Work cross-functionally to gather information and expertise to address issues identified with customer accounts

• Negotiate with assigned scope of authority, individually or as part of a team, to resolve problems with favorable outcomes

• Perform account reconciliations, daily credit hold/releases, monthly statement and/or dunning letter processing, recommendations for bad debt write-offs and suggesting accounts for credit limit reviews

• Respond to customer inquiries on accounts regarding billing discrepancies or payment disputes

• Perform account maintenance activities, resolving short-pays, chargebacks, credit memos and payment application issues

• Support other collections staff with research requests, invoice reprints, data gathering and related tasks Requirements • Demonstrable experience in customer service and sales roles

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook

• Experience with invoice and payment processing

• Familiarity with billing functions and collection processes

• Strong research and problem-solving skills

• Ability to handle email correspondence professionally and efficiently

• Familiarity with planning processes and the ability to execute plans effectively

• Experience in account reconciliation and financial notes

• Ability to interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels

• Experience in customer account management and dispute resolution

• Familiarity with 'About Time' and 'Workstation Support' systems

• Ability to track and report on progress regularly

• Strong skills in issue resolution and customer service

• Experience in release processes.
