Pfizer International Customer Engagement Training Lead in Groton, Connecticut

ROLE SUMMARY

This role acts as the international lead for Customer Engagement Training, reporting to VP, Global Customer Engagement Training and being a part of the Customer Engagement Training LT. The lead will oversee all direct reports for International Customer Engagement Training, conduct business and strategic training needs analysis, and create a L&D strategy for the international Customer Engagement Training team. The strategy will ensure market-specific customization for optimal content, relevance and impact, while also focusing on consistent understanding and execution of core principles to support exceptional skill development for commercial roles. Collaborating closely with international commercial leadership and the global Customer Engagement Training team, this role will also spearhead the development of Customer Engagement training initiatives and work with needed stakeholders to implement training and development worldwide.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and develop direct reports and the international Customer Engagement Training team for optimal skills needed to shape, evolve and deliver best-in-class training results.

  • Define and execute core measures to understand impact of deployed training efforts to the learner and to business results, from both a customer and a business impact perspective.

  • Gather best practices and share across needed multi-stakeholder groups and global Customer Engagement Training leader members to support an environment of teamwork and continuous improvement.

  • Be able to balance application of standardized constructs and local market, brand and leader requests to ensure focus on areas of prioritization and needed core mastery that spans not only international but also global role expectations.

  • Lead International Customer Engagement Training Op Planning, ensuring alignment to international business and global Customer Engagement Training strategy and planning.

  • Ensure clear goals are in place and measured for core role curriculum and for annual planning, across international and within deployed core markets.

  • Identify the capabilities needed to meet the current and emerging business and strategic needs of the international commercial team.

  • Lead the analysis of learning needs and the prioritization of L&D activity across the commercial organization for the international markets.

  • Work closely with the international commercial leadership, and the Customer Engagement Training team to develop L&D strategy and role map for the international commercial leadership.

  • Lead the design and development of high-quality L&D programs with international or global reach to support the achievement of high levels of learner engagement and required learning outcomes within agreed resources and timescales

  • Lead the development of partnering relationships with senior executives throughout the organization, building high levels of professional credibility and mutual trust, and ensuring that internal clients have access to high quality advice and guidance to support in delivering business strategy and plans

  • Communicate the function's strategy and its relationship to the organization's mission, vision, and values; clarify the actions needed to implement this strategy within the area of responsibility; motivate people to commit to the mission, vision, and values and do extraordinary things to achieve the organization's business goals.

  • This role will manage an organization of 100+ colleagues.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree required with 20+ years of experience in commercial marketing and commercial sales customer facing roles to include leader of teams and customer facing execution, with responsibilities in coaching and performance of team.

  • International experience spanning both Asia and Europe.

  • Previous experience leading across matrixed organizations

  • Strong ability to interpret business needs and develop strategy accordingly.

  • Experience in strategic planning, operational planning and partnership development.

  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

  • Executive presence and ability to influence senior stakeholders internally and externally.

  • Demonstrated ability to think analytically and contribute to the development of innovative approaches. Strong problem-solving skills are valuable.

  • Ability to make sense of complex information to make sound judgment and decision making.

  • A track record of holding self and others accountable to meet commitments.

  • Experience working across multiple international markets, to include Europe and Asia markets.

  • Experience with learning and development programs and strategies

  • Experience leading leaders and building/delivering culture in-line with Pfizer values.

  • Experience developing strategies, execution pull through and measurement for efforts that impact organization level approach and outcomes.

  • Ability to lead by influence without positional authority

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience developing data analytics strategies and approaches to measurement of effectiveness and ROI

  • Familiarity with the global pharma regulatory environment and its impact on sales strategies

  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design theory

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $239,300.00 to $398,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 30.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
