Job Description Job Description: Wheel Operator/Blow Mold Technician Location: Columbus Ohio Crew C/Day shift Position Overview: Is responsible for safely operating the Molding equipment in a productive, efficient, and effective manner. This requires producing quality products with minimal scrap and downtime. Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Must be knowledgeable of and comply with all Amcor Rigid Packaging safety rules/regulations including; equipment manufacturer recommendations, and Agency Rules (OSHA). Conduct safety checklist at the beginning of each shift and document. Verifiy that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is in the proper location on the line and in working order. Responsible for wearing designated PPE. Perform safety audits and/or observations. Demonstrate the ability to effectively and efficiently start up and shutdown the blow molding equipment in a safe manner. Continuously monitor and adjust the blow molder when necessary, to ensure customer requirements are sustained. Perform daily and preventive maintenance activities as required. Ability to set molds as required. To be knowledgeable of and comply with all SOPs and JSAs related to operating the blow molding line. Direct other line workers to ensure the line is running in a clean, organized, and efficient manner ensuring product is being produced within quality and productivity standards. Keep assigned work area clean, neat, organized, and free from safety hazards. Regularly evaluate the Standard Operation Procedures and recommend improvement opportunities. Be an active participant in Performance Improvement teams. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Machine Operator, Skilled Maintenance Worker, Plastics Processor or formal technical training experience. Strong verbal, listening, and written communications skills. Must be motivated and able to work with minimum supervision. Must possess a high attention to detail. Must have the necessary skills to perform reading, writing, and mathematics in English as required. Must be able to multitask effectively, handle demanding schedules, and effectively deal with co-workers. Must be able to physically move around moving machinery including climbing, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, bending, etc. ADA Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends and overtime Ability to bend and stoop frequently Ability to carry up to 50 pou
